The Player Impact Program was introduced this year and the debate regarding the recipients of this prize has been ongoing since. However, new developments state that Phil Mickelson could have won the special prize.
The PIP operates with a fund of $40 million, with the promise of allocating it to the top 10 golfers at the end of the year who have the highest scores. These winners will be determined based on their ‘impact score’, and several other factors, including the MVP Index. Meanwhile, the list is not being made public like the other rankings. Hence, unless disclosed, we have no way of knowing who ranks on the list.
This comes as a boon to many who are very popular amongst the fans. Some names include Tiger Woods, Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, and, of course, Phil Mickelson.

Brad Faxon believes Phil Mickelson won the PIP fund money
Brad Faxon said, “The rumor has that from that $40 million dollar pot, that Phil was first. That he won $10 million dollars. And those came a lot from the PGA Championship, a lot from his presence on social media, which is very entertaining. And people wanna watch Phil, so, that $40 million pot is gonna increase every year on the PGA Tour.”
Rumor has it that Faxon has been wrong on pretty much every rumor that he’s posted. As much as people love Phil, I doubt he won the PIP, there’s more factors than just social media. pic.twitter.com/ukf497jy3P

“So, if he won $10 million for that bonus on PGA tour and missed every other cut, won a few tournaments on the champions tour, he’s gonna make more money by staying on the regular tour,” he added.
However, many people have trouble believing Brad, stating that there’s more to it than just social media. Moreover, the figure stated by Faxon in his assumption is also incorrect.
Safe to say, Phil will definitely make it onto the top-10 in our list. The top spot, however, we can’t really be certain about that. What are your thoughts about the same?
