Intriguingly, it was the Spaniard who played some fantastic tennis, made an incredible comeback, and emerged as the winner of the tournament. The final scoreline of the match was 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.

Set-1: Ons Jabeur Stuns Garbine Muguruza
Serving first, Jabeur began the first set on a high note as she won the first game quite easily. However, Muguruza played some really attacking tennis and equalized the scoreline at 1-1 in the very next game.

After winning the third game, Jabeur broke in the fourth game, and then won the following service game to take her lead to 4-1. It was here when the momentum really shifted towards the Tunisian player.

The one who served continued to win the remaining games and as a result, Jabeur sealed the set 6-3 in just 33 minutes.

Set-2: Garbine Muguruza makes a phenomenal comeback
Jabeur got off to a great start even in the second set and she broke in the very first game and established a 1-0 lead over Muguruza. However, the World No.9 player broke back and leveled the scoreline at 1-1 at the end of the second game.

After the scoreline reached 2-2, it was Jabeur who broke again but was broken back yet again. Therefore, the scoreline reached 3-3. However, what happened after this stunned everyone including Jabeur.

The Spaniard won the next game, broke for the third consecutive time, and took her lead to 5-3. Serving for the set, Muguruza won the set 6-3 on her fifth set-point.
Set-3: The decider
Muguruza started from where she left and broke in the very first game. She won her following service game, and then broke yet again to extend her lead to 3-0. Muguruza was looking really dominant while Jabuer was somehow trying to survive in the match.

The Spaniard won the fourth game as well and was now really close to a bagel in the final set. Interestingly, she broke Jabeur once again, who was completely looking helpless at this point of time. Serving for the set, she didn’t take long, conquered the set 6-0, and thus, won the Chicago Fall Tennis Classic 2021 title.
