“It Is Not Going to Be the End of the World if We… “ – Hamilton Makes Fresh Plea in Verstappen F1 Battle

Lewis Hamilton is famous for his hunger to win. Arguably one of the most accomplished driver in the sport, he has broken countless records and set many of his own. For the past six years, he has stayed at the top of the sport, unopposed.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case this year. At a time when he is chasing his record-breaking eighth world championship, Hamilton is 33 points behind his archrival, Max Verstappen.

And while most expect him to be fueling with rage at such a situation, the Briton is far from that. He is a person who prioritizes his inner peace, and as such, he has revealed that he would be okay with not winning the title this year.

It is not going to be the end of the world if we don’t win: Hamilton

Despite being behind the championship, Lewis is optimistic that Mercedes can fight back.

Hamilton said, “All I know is that, whatever the outcome, there has been an immense amount of growth and I am going to be here for longer than this year.

“It is not going to be the end of the world if we don’t. But we are going to give everything to make sure that we do.

Despite any advantage that he might face, Hamilton has a fighter’s mentality. No matter what life, or in this case, Verstappen, throws at him, he doesn’t back off, and fights it as best he can.

“When a challenge comes up, I face it head-on,” said Hamilton.

“I have never run away from a fight. When we entered this season and we saw the challenge we had on, it was like, ‘Game on, love this, this is what we live for.’ It has been exciting.” said the Mercedes driver.

The sprint qualifying is done and dusted, and despite starting from P1, Hamilton could only qualify in P2 for tomorrow’s race, behind Verstappen.

Do you think he’ll have to settle for P2 on Sunday as well? Or will Hamilton end his five-race winless streak and make a comeback in front of his home crowd?
