“Conjecture” – Otmar Szafnauer Responds to Aston Martin F1 Exit Talks

Otmar Szafnauer is the man-in-charge at Aston Martin and has been in charge of the team since its Force India days. However, there were rumors that Romanian-American engineer will move to another team on the Formula One grid.

But, Szafnauer has denied the rumors, stating that he has a contract with the Silverstone-based team. With two more races remaining before the season, Szafnauer hopes that Aston Martin ends their 2021 camping on a high.

Otmar Szafnauer will remain loyal to Aston Martin despite rumors

Earlier this year, there were reports stating that Alpine was interested in bringing in Szafnauer. However, Otmar himself stated that they are just rumors, and he is still has a contract with Aston Martin.

Speaking after the practice session, Otmar said, “Well, like I have answered that before all that stuff is rumor and conjecture, and like I said I have a contract here at Aston Martin.”

How’s the 2021 season been so far?

The team led by Lawrence Stroll had hoped for a successful 2021 season after signing four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel. However, things haven’t gone their way so far, as a string of poor performances has landed them in seventh place in the constructor’s standings with 77 points.

But every cloud has a silver lining, and for Aston Martin, that silver lining was the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Vettel finished second, giving him his first podium for the British team.
