Xbox Cloud Makes Debut on Consoles

This year has been a great one for gamers and things are only getting better. Xbox’s Cloud gaming service has just been released. And Xbox fans are excited about the future.

The Xbox Cloud Gaming will now go live for the Series X/S alongside the Xbox One. Xbox is also launching the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription service in 25 regions. Brazil will follow suit. What this means is that players who own an Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, or Xbox One, alongside the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, can now stream games directly from their library.

How exactly does Xbox Cloud work?

This service allows players to play games without even actually installing the title. It also facilitates joining in multiplayer sessions along with friends for games that are not installed on a console.

Moreover, even last-gen console owners can take advantage of this service. They can play select titles from next-gen titles such as Recompile, The Medium, and The Riftbreaker through cloud gaming. Catherine Gluckstein, Vice President and Head of Product, Xbox Cloud Gaming, made a blog post to shed more light on the newly launched service.

The release of the service for consoles goes well with the fact that Microsoft just celebrated Xbox’s 20th anniversary. The blog stated,“This capability will initially roll out with our November release to a subset of Xbox gamers and scale to all gamers in supported markets over the coming weeks.”

Catherine added that the team will be continuing to work on this service and aims to expand the library to next-gen titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator by early 2022.

Xbox Cloud is already available for mobile devices alongside PCs. Microsoft in June announced that they intended to bring forth this service to internet-based TVs as well. A move like this will enable players to access the Game Pass with no additional hardware apart from a controller, of course.
