Chicago Bulls’ legendary duo Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen are no longer the buddies they were. Following some startling revelations by the latter, the pair were apparently never that close. Many fans have come in Jordan’s defense, while Pippen has also gained a lot of support. In the latest addition to this list, former NBA star Rashad McCants has backed the 56-year-old. He has also lashed out at MJ.
It all began with the Last Dance documentary on Netflix. As fans relived an elite era of basketball courtesy of the Bulls‘ big-3, a huge controversy was brewing on the sidelines. Following the release of the show in its entirety, a large section of the masses, including many former Chicago players themselves, were quite upset by the series. The apparent reason, was that the 14-time All-star chose to glorify himself over the team. Former forward ‘Pip’ was among these critics, and lashed out at Jordan in his memoir.

37-year-old Rashad McCants played for the Minnesota Timberwolves for over three years. Now retired, the 2005 NCAA champion has spoken out regarding the Jordan-Pippen situation. Scottie, who recently published his memoir, has bashed multiple teammates. In the process, he has called ‘His Airness’ selfish and hypocritical as well. And in a recent interview, McCants has come in defense of Pippen, while destroying Jordan.

Rashad made it clear that he believes Jordan was the one who ended Isiah Thomas’ career. According to him, Jordan blocked Thomas’ entry into the Dream Team. Fearlessly stating that he is going to start up a fire, McCants laid down, “Michael Jordan is the biggest fraud in the history of sports.” NBA Twitter was having none of it, with MJ’s fans immediately coming in support of their icon.
