The Prime Minister too was quick to respond with a comment on the post, reiterating how Davies inspires people all over the world.

Thanks, Alphonso – but know that you have already made us proud. Whether it’s your talents on the field or through your work with refugees, you’re inspiring people all over. We’ll be rooting for you and the whole team tomorrow night,” Trudeau said.

Davies and his career with the Canadian men’s national team.

Davies has been a mainstay in both the FC Bayern eleven and the Canadian national team for a long time now. His international debut for the senior side came in 2017 at the age of 16. Thus, he holds the record for being the youngest senior player in Canadian soccer history, along with being the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Gold Cup.

His heroics with FC Bayern Munich have won him several laurels over recent seasons. However, nothing would mean more than guiding his team to Qatar next year. Will Canada make it to the FIFA World Cup 2022?
