Former WBA interim lightweight champion Rolando Romero is now all set to face three-division champ, Gervonta Davis. The two will clash at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on December 5.
Both Mayweather Promotions athletes have shared bad blood for quite a while. However, it’s often Rolando Romero initiating brawls on social media.
As the two lightweights head into battle in December, Romero is on a mocking streak on social media.
He has taken shots at ‘Tank’ Davis over the obvious differences in their height, reach, and overall size. Over the past few months, he has also suggested that he is a bigger puncher than ‘Tank’.

Romero recently shared a video in which he is pretending to spar a kid, obviously much shorter than him. This was simply a not-so-subtle subtle dig at the height and reach advantage he holds over Gervonta Davis.

Gervonta Davis defeated Mario Barrios despite the height and reach disadvantage
In June, Gervonta Davis secured an iconic win against Mario Barrios. Davis added a new world title in a third-weight class by an 11th round stoppage against the 140 lbs champion.
Even though Davis landed the bigger shots and ultimately ended up dominating the fight towards the end, Mario put up a tough challenge.
Barrios used his height and reach to his advantage throughout the fight. He tried to maintain distance with his right jab without over-extending through the first four rounds.
Barrios attempted to block ‘Tank’ from entering the pocket. As things started looking difficult for Davis, he began parrying Barrios’ jabs in Round 5; this allowed him to close the distance and connect better.
“He was tough and it was tough getting to him because he was tall and had a longer reach but as soon as I got to him I got the job done,” Davis agreed Barrios put up a tough fight.
With his iconic win over Barrios, he showed that he knows his way around getting past taller fighters with a longer reach. If Rolly Romero plans on simply using the exact same approach as Davis’ last opponent, ‘Tank’ will parry away jabs and could drop him earlier in the fight.
