It is a well-known fact that Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter is the biggest name in the streaming ecosystem. Her unparallel rise to the pinnacle of the gaming industry is nothing short of a Cinderella story. However, fame also attracts a lot of unwanted attention and not everything can go as you intend it to.
Following a recent tie-up with a skincare brand in RFLCT, Rachel found herself in a controversy that spiraled out of control. The 29-year-old streamer merely wanted to support a cause that she felt concerned about. Sadly, the launch of the product on the website failed to showcase the research that Rae saw prior to release. This made her quite uncomfortable and, following the community’s backlash, she has offered clarification, and it was the exact reason behind the missing 100Thieves co-owner tag from her bio.

Valkyrae finds herself stuck in the RFLCT deal
In one of her recent streams, Rae shed light on all things that went down behind the closed doors. The founders of the skincare product were eager to hire the popular streamer as a creative collaborator. She also showed an interest in learning about the actual science behind the product, which the company produced only to win her over. However, the team did not share the data on the website, which puzzled the streamer as well.

“When RFLCT dropped, it was critical and crucial to have information, but there was nothing but a web MD link. I was confused, obviously, um and so I had meetings with them after that in the past few days, I didn’t want to speak or stream, because I needed to see, how the website was going to be updated and that’s when I learned that their studies can’t be publicized. So that’s the part where I was very naive about because I didn’t know that part.”
She is still bound by a long-time contract with the skincare brand that she truly believes in. But the missing research makes her quite uncomfortable, and she hopes to get out of the deal soon.
