After an unfortunate injury at the opening round of Wimbledon 2021, Serena Williams had to withdraw from the US Open. The American is currently recovering and hasn’t yet announced a date for her return.

While she’s been missing from the courts, Serena has kept her fans engaged, sharing updates through her social media handles. A well-known fan of comic books, she recently shared her amusement on Twitter after finding out about a new Hulk character in the Marvel franchise.

Serena Williams is excited about the New Hulk

Mark Ruffalo has been playing the Hulk character for years for the famous Marvel movies. But lately, there has been some news regarding a new female Hulk or She-Hulk. She-Hulk is under production and Marvel fans could witness a new female version of the Hulk.

It seems like Serena was a little late in finding out about the news. Recently, she tweeted, “Wait so to be clear in the comics there is a new Hulk…??? I need to start reading more comics apparently.

Williams is a huge Marvel fan

Serena’s love for Marvel isn’t anew revelation. On several occasions, she has expressed her admiration for the comic book franchise. Moreover, she even admitted that she sometimes gets anxious watching Marvel content.

The former World No.1 also paired up with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) for a digital comic named ‘Serving Up Justice.’ For this exclusive series, Critical Mass and DC Comics collaborated. The series consists of four chapters.

Williams stated, “I love the world of superheroes and first fell in love with that world through comic books. It’s a dream come true to be able to play Wonder Woman for DIRECTV. I had so much fun conveying such an iconic character on-screen and in our very own comic book.”

Hopefully, Serena will soon recover from her injury and will grace the courts again as the real-life superhero that she is.
