Mike Harmon has enjoyed a fairly long career in the NASCAR arena. He normally plied his trade in the Xfinity Series, with a handful of part-time appearances. However, the 2002 and 2003 seasons were the only time he raced full time. Now, Harmon is expected to return to the Xfinity Series, in the Mike Harmon Racing #74 car.
The 63-year-old is competing this weekend at the Martinsville Speedway and will start the race in 39th. He will replace Carson Ware, who is currently indisposed. Naturally, many fans are excited to see the driver/owner back in the fold in the penultimate race.
Good luck Mike. I’ll be rooting you on

Now, this begs the question, will Harmon compete in the final race of the season at Phoenix? Or will the Mike Harmon Racing team opt for one of the other #74 drivers? So far, Bayley Currey, Jesse Iwuji, Dawson Cram, Tim Viens, CJ McLaughlin, and Gray Gaulding have driven the car.
What to expect from Mike Harmon at the NASCAR race at Martinsville?
Of course, nobody is expecting many miracles, as this is his first time in the car since Talladega in 2020. Last year, he made appearances in four races, finishing 16th, 25th, and two 17th place finishes. It is interesting to note that the 16th place finishes at Daytona was his best career finish in the Xfinity Arena.
Good luck Mike I'll be rooting for you guys

On another note, this is Harmon’s first non-superspeedway start since the Phoenix finale in 2019. This is because he made all four of his 2020 appearances at Daytona and at Talladega. It will also be the first time he has competed at the Martinsville Speedway in an Xfinity car. Meanwhile, he has had three race starts in the Truck Series, but only qualified for two of them, with a best finish of 32nd in 2005.
BIG MAN!

Alongside him in the #47 car is Kyle Weatherman, who is a full-time driver. So far in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Weatherman has racked up a best finish of 15th at Daytona and Richmond this year. Meanwhile, he has a career-best finish of 8th place at Kentucky in the 2020 season.

Now, Harmon will be eagerly awaiting his return to the Xfinity Arena and hoping to snatch a good result for his own team.
