Former NBA great James Posey played for seven different teams during his 11-year-old professional basketball career. His longest stint was with Denver Nuggets, who drafted him in 1999. Posey won two NBA championships in his playing career. He won his first with Miami Heat and second with Boston Celtics. Posey won his career’s third NBA title with Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 as their assistant coach.
Posey’s last job in the NBA was at Cleveland as their assistant coach, which he left in 2019. Currently, Posey hosts a weekly podcast at Basketballnews.com. In a recent episode of SiriusXM NBA Radio, Posey talked about Cleveland Cavaliers’ power forward Kevin Love. Posey has previously coached Kevin Love during his coaching days at Cleveland Cavaliers.
James Posey feels NBA teams should get Kevin Love during the off-season
Former Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach James Posey talked about Kevin Love in a recent episode of SiriusXM NBA Radio. Posey said that Kevin Love could help a team contending for the championship in the coming season.
“You look at the team that could possibly use his (Kevin Love’s) talent,” Posey said.
“He’s a great shooter. So he’s pacing the floor and I just think of an opportunity for him to win another championship. I think teams should look into getting Kevin Love.”

The 32-year-old power forward Kevin Love is a star in Cleveland. He was a part of the 2015-16 Cavaliers squad that ended Cleveland’s 52-year-old trophy drought. Kevin had just re-signed with the Cavaliers ahead of the 2015-16 NBA season after opting out of the contract. Kevin helped the Cavaliers top the Eastern Conference that season and reach the NBA finals to face defending champions, Golden State Warriors.
However, despite a fantastic regular season, Kevin Love couldn’t make much difference in the NBA finals. He even suffered a concussion in Cleveland’s 2nd game and missed the third game in the process.
However, LeBron James fired the Cavaliers to their first and only NBA title after bouncing back from being 0-3 down to win 4-3. Since that season, Kevin Love has been a regular starter for the Cavaliers and has been integral to their squad.
