Tour Championship 2021: Complete Breakdown of the Prize Money From Winner to Last-Place

The PGA Tour season is ready to come to an end with the Tour Championship at the East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta. The final step for 30 golfers who’ve worked hard to reach the FedExCup playoffs, the Tour Championship is one of the most important events of the year. Of course, as a season-ending tournament, the prize money is jaw-dropping.

As mentioned, the Tour Championship this year will be held at the historic East Lake Golf Course — home to legend Bobby Jones. It has been hosting the tournament since 2005, seeing winners throughout the year. Last season, Dustin Johnson won the event, scoring 21-under 269. He played well throughout, ending with a birdie on Hole 18. Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele finished T2, Jon Rahm following.

The completion was equally tough, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Cantlay, Tony Finau, Cameron Smith, and Rory McIlroy are others also in line to possibly take home the victory. Johnson, who won last year, will begin under two this time.

The event has gone through changes over the years, only top 30 money leaders being allowed to play before 2007. Now, PGA Tour points throughout the season matter, also deciding what position one takes. The Champions Golf Club in Houston has also been one of the venues to previously host the Tour Championship.

Of course, the winner will be rewarded with other perks, such as 64 Official World Golf Ranking points. The ultimate winner will also earn one a five-plus PGA Tour season exemption, along with 2022 Masters and PGA Championship berths.
