Rapper Rick Ross Heaps Heavy Praise on Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler

Even though all the attention goes to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Golden State Warriors, and the Brooklyn Nets, the Miami Heat is a well-run organization. Coach Erik Spoelstra deserves full credit for that and the able front office in Miami. After winning two consecutive championships in 2012 and 2013, he once again came close when they met the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019-20 NBA season. Despite failing to win the series, the franchise put in an excellent performance with a host of gifted players; especially, Jimmy Butler. Recently in a podcast, Rick Ross expressed his love for the player.

Rick Ross loves Jimmy Butler

Being an ardent follower of the Miami Heat, Ross spoke in favor of the shooting guard from Houston, Texas. He attends most of Miami’s games and loves the fact that Butler leads the team. In a podcast with TalkHoops, Ross spoke in favor of Butler.

“I love Jimmy Butler. When Jimmy first came in like I said, we went all the way; we didn’t bring it home, but we surprised everybody. He showed us that he was willing to sacrifice. We just got to make sure we get all the pieces in place and everybody get on the same accord,” said Ross.

Butler led the team to the NBA finals against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers but failed to win the title. Significantly, Butler played really well as he averaged 26.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and grabbed 2.2 steals per game. However, the Heat lost the series 4-2 to the Lakers.

In terms of Ross’s statement of “getting all the pieces in place,” the franchise did well this offseason.

Kyle Lowry joins the Heat

Amidst much fanfare, Kyle Lowry ended his association with the Toronto Raptors and landed in Miami. In addition, P. J. Tucker arrived from the current NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, to provide experience to the squad.

Now, the team looks poised to mount a serious title challenge with able depth on the roster.

Lowry is an excellent point guard and can shoot bombs from beyond the arc. Butler drives to the rim and is excellent in drawing fouls inside the paint. Meanwhile, Bam Adebayo and Tucker provide that sense of security on the backboard with their interior defense and rebounding ability. Along with all these pieces, the injured Victor Oladipo will make his come back this season and his ability cannot be underestimated.

All in all, the Miami Heat is a formidable team ahead of the 2021-22 NBA season. Although Westbrook and Anthony joined the Lakers, Miami looks balanced with their current roster.
