The Golden State Warriors were expected to make some big moves this off season. Considering that they will see the return of Klay Thompson alongside an in-form Stephen Curry, the Dubs were expected to add another star player to their roster.
But the Warriors haven’t signed or traded for any big name superstar in the market. Opting to keep their draft picks Moses Moody and Johnathan Kuminga, Curry and Co. have put a lot of faith in their existing squad as of now. While the Warriors haven’t made a big money move, rumors have been pretty rampant linking them with some star players.

Pascal Siakam speaks on rumors about potential trade to Warriors
One of the biggest names in the same was that of Raptors’ forward Pascal Siakam. Given that Toronto also lost couldn’t re-sign legendary point guard Kyle Lowry, the rumors started gaining some serious steam lately. But the 27-year-old has quashed all these claims.
In a recent interview with the New York Post, Siakam discussed that he was unfazed by any trade rumors in the off-season and explained why he was unaffected by the same. “I never really heard anything from the Raptors.”
“Even all the news I was seeing it was never like: ‘Oh. The Raptors wanted to give up Siakam for this.’ It was always like, ‘The Warriors like Pascal,’ or it was always, ‘The Kings like Pascal,’ or this. There was never nothing where it was like, ‘The Raptors wanted to give away Pascal.'”
A trade for Siakam certainly seems intriguing from the Dubs’ perspective. Given that Draymond Green can play as a small ball center, Siakam could have been a lock at the power forward position. If the Cameroonian was in the side, the Warriors’ would have had a much better chance at competing on paper.
But with Lowry now out from the roster, Spicy P can be the go-to guy in the lineup. While the 27-year-old did win the Most Improved Player in 2018-19 season, his numbers have stagnated. Averaging about 22 points per game, Siakam’s is surely a star, but needs to step up a gear to enter super-stardom.
The 2021-22 campaign could be the one where the 1-time All-Star steps up. If Siakam does have a career year and players like Fred Van Vleet have a good season, the Raptors have a good chance of making it to the playoffs. Can the 27-year-old lead Toronto back to the playoffs?
