Former world no.1 and four-time major champion Naomi Osaka, who’s struggling to find form on the tennis court from the French Open this year, has been a successful campaigner off-court with launch of her skincare brand, Kinloskin.

Also, the Japanese tennis star recently donned a stunning outfit at the Met Gala 2021 and impressed one and all with her look. Wearing a Louis Vitton purple and blue halter neck gown, Osaka was one of the top show stealers at the event last week.
The outfit, which was designed by her sister Mari Osaka, was an intermix of their Japanese and Haitian roots. Amongst the many attractions of Osaka’s outfit was her hairdo, which was styled by Marty Harper, a New York based hairstylist.

Recently, Harper took to Instagram to appreciate both Naomi and Mari Osaka for their efforts in putting together a unique outfit.
“JUST PURE LOVE and ART. Naomi Osaka, thank you for allowing us to share this day with you. (Adam Kudeimati and I are so grateful for this moment) Seeing you in the dress conceptualized by Mari Osaka and yourself was pure Joy… sisters and collaborators”, wrote Harper.
After the French Open controversy, Osaka decided to take a break from tennis to spend time with friends and family. Before the US Open, the Japanese player played the Cincinnati Masters, where she lost to Swiss player Jil Teichmann in the third-round.
Having entered the US Open as a defending champion, Osaka couldn’t perform to her expectations as she was outpowered by the 19-year old Canadian prodigy Leylah Fernandez. At one point during match, the four-time major champion was in a commanding position and looked all set to close out the contest.

But, Leylah was relentless and pushed Osaka to the limit by improving her baseline defense game. This forced the Japanese to make errors from both the wings as she gave away the match to Fernandez in three, tight sets.
This night match was loved by the Arthur Ashe crowd as they rallied behind Leylah Fernandez right throughout the third set. After this heart-breaking loss, Osaka told the media that she would be taking an indefinite break from tennis and also informed that she’s unsure of her return to the WTA tour.
Despite two heavy losses in two tournaments on her preferable surface, there’s still so much of tennis action left on tour for Naomi Osaka to play for. That being said, it will be interesting to see if the Japanese star wants to play any tennis for the rest of the season.
