Eels coach Brad Arthur admits it's tough to see his players "not enjoying" their footy following Parramatta's 56-10 thrashing at the hands of Manly.
Arthur's men battled for the entire clash in the blow out loss at Sunshine Coast stadium, before things took a turn for the worst in the second half.
The Eels at one stage during the second half were forced to play with 11 men after Ryan Matterson and Marata Niukore were ordered off the field for separate incidents.
Meanwhile, the timing of last night's hammering couldn't have come at a worse period for Arthur, who earlier in the week was forced to field questions surrounding his future in the wake of the Eels' run of poor form.
Asked by a reporter after the match about "the noise" that will follow the club's latest result, Arthur said he was prepared to handle it all.
"It's (the noise) coming. It's what it is, it's footy," Arthur said.
"That part of it I can handle.
"I don't like seeing the players disappointed, unhappy and not enjoying our footy.
"When you get beat like that, obviously there's no enjoyment. That's the bit we need to change.
"The other bit (the noise) - it's going to be there; we've just got to deal with it."
Whether it be focusing less on the footy side of things at training, Arthur admitted the club would need to change something up in preparation for next Saturday's Cowboys clash.
"We probably need to change things up at training," Arthur said.
"Maybe not focus on footy this week - I don't know. It's a good question, but we've got a week to sort it out.
"We need to mix something up at training.
"Sometimes the harder you work, the more of a hole you dig yourself into."
