Tennis fans were left disappointed when Naomi Osaka decided to skip the Wimbledon Championships 2021. The Japanese star had wotdrawn from the French Open 2021 before that, citing some mental health issues and had then announced that she would need some more time to recover. However, it appears that she is getting better day by day and will be ready to play at the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
The World No. 2 was recently spotted practicing on the court, going through some forehand drills on a hard court and it is the first time fans have seen her on a tennis court since the French Open 2021.

The Tokyo Olympics will begin in about three and a half weeks and in many earlier interviews, she has expressed her desire to play there. Evidently, Osaka is training really hard and has begun her practice sessions for the biggest sporting tournament.
Even though she has failed to prove herself on grass and clay n her career so far, Osaka is a phenomenal player when it comes to playing on the hard courts.
Moreover, given that her home country is hosting the event this time around, it is the perfect opportunity for her to win the Gold Medal in the singles category.

Naomi Osaka in the 2021 tennis season
It has been a topsy-turvy season for Osaka so far. She began the year on a really high note as she won her fourth Grand Slam title at the Australian Open 2021. However, her season hs taken quite the turn since.
She didn’t excel at the Miami Open 2021 as Maria Sakkari thrashed her in straight sets. The clay-court season proved to be a nightmare for her as she lost two matches out of a total of four that she played on the surface. Although she won her first match at Roland Garros 2021, she withdrew from the Major following the uproar behind her decision to skip her press duties.
Naomi Osaka can still improve her stats in the 2021 season if she succeeds at the Tokyo Olympics and at the US Open 2021. Fans still have huge expectations from her and want her to deliver once she is back on the court.
Will she be able to end the year as the World No.1 player?
