The 2021 Open Championship is currently underway at the Royal St. George’s in Sandwich, Kent, England. The final major championship of the year has completed three rounds and is all set for a super Sunday. The leaderboard is in a cliffhanger of a position as the leader is just ahead by one stroke. Moreover, there are around eight players within five shots of the lead.
Louis Oosthuizen is currently at the top of the leaderboard with a score of -12. But the young sensation Collin Morikawa is just a stroke behind with -11, while Jordan Spieth is at -9. Currently, looking at the leaderboard, no one player is a clear favorite. But still looking at the current form, performance, and records, Collin Morikawa looks slightly ahead of everyone at the moment.

However, driving the ball in the fairway is the most crucial thing on this course. But with a strong approach game, Morikawa can easily make it secondary as he did in the record-breaking round two.
If Collin manages to hit at least 60% of the fairways and keeps his putter the same as it has been throughout The 2021 Open Championship, then no one can stop him from winning.

However, looking at the current leaderboard, Louis Oosthuizen looks the top pick for the winner. But his records suggest something different. Louis has six career second-place major finishes, while the 2021 U.S. Open being the most recent one. But this time around, even though he is looking determined than ever, he still gives the impression of messing it up at the last moment.
Although Jordan Spieth is also well and truly in the game, he is looking slightly off-color with four bogeys on Saturday. However, Spieth is driving the ball well, but he is having a slight issue with his approach and putting game.
Outsiders with a chance to lift the trophy
Corey Conners and Scottie Scheffler have a slight chance on Sunday. Both these players are currently T4 with a score of -8. Even among these two, Corey Conners has slightly more chance just because of his impeccable iron play. He drove the ball well on Saturday, but the only thing he needs to watch is his putting. If he can somehow get his putter going, then he has a good chance of winning the final major championship of the year.
