The impact Michael Jordan had in the NBA has been on a whole new level. Be it him showing the power of superstardom or his incredible play, Jordan has had a lasting impact every-time. Nowadays it is the Jordan brand that is making moves.
A company under Nike, Jordan brand has swiftly taken over the NBA and have signed some of the biggest names in the game. One of their recent acquisitions was Wizards’ superstar Bradley Beal.
Beal who has solidified himself as a superb scorer of the ball was pivotal in leading the Wizards to a spot in the playoffs. Playing alongside Russell Westbrook, Beal certainly made some noise in the league and all became an All-NBA guard.
Bradley Beal reveals why he signed with Michael Jordan and the Jordan brand
Bradley Beal is certainly making strides in the league for the last two seasons. Leading the league in scoring in the 2019-20 season, Beal proved his stock yet again as a scorer as he finished as the second best scorer only behind a scorching Steph Curry.
Given how incredible of a season he had in the 2019-20 season, his deal with the Jordan brand in December was the cherry on top. In a recent appearance at the Knuckleheads podcast, Beal explained why he signed with Michael Jordan and the Jordan brand.
“It’s unreal. I’ve been with Nike all my life. Ever since I was in high school. My mom got a Nike tattoo on her leg. So this was the last year of my deal. And Nike was like, ‘Well Jump Man is very interested.’ Right now. ‘Me?'”
Beal added, “Mike ain’t just fond of anybody. So, I’m like okay, ‘well if he’s signing off on it, it’s got to be something special.’ So man from the presentation, to you know, interacting with them and then meeting meeting the guys like is unreal dawg….. I love it man, like they treat you like family. It’s been like this.”
While Beal has been making strides as a generational scorer, his team hasn’t had significant success so far. With the 28-year-old arguably in his prime of his career, the Wizards need to add an able supporting cast.
If they fail to do so, we might be seeing the 3-time All-Star look for a different challenge all together and leave Russell Westbrook and Washington. Do you think Beal will stick around next season? Let us know in the comments section down below.
