Arrow facing longer ban for 'dancer' breach

The Queensland Rugby League will reportedly consider banning Jai Arrow from next year's State of Origin series over his hotel room COVID breach.

Arrow was hit with a breach notice from the NRL on Thursday for failing to comply with the league's protocols when he brought an "unregistered guest" into the Maroons' hotel on the Gold Coast ahead of next week's Origin finale.

The 25-year-old Souths star was issued with a $35,000 fine, as well as a two-game suspension. He will also have to undergo 14 days of isolation.

Jai Arrow.

However according to the Sydney Morning Herald, the QRL is now considering further sanctions with the possibility of barring Arrow from the 2022 Origin series.

The Herald also reports that Arrow provided the description of the guest as a "dancer" to the NRL integrity unit when spoken to on Thursday.

The Rabbitohs forward was adamant he had no physical contact with the woman during her visit. It is understood Arrow smuggled the woman into the hotel by deliberately avoiding team security.

Yesterday, an irate Paul Green refused to be drawn on the matter when pressed by reporters in Maroons camp, walking out on the media scrum.

"Thanks guys, just with regard to the Jai Arrow incident, the matter is in the relevant authorities' hands, and hasn't been resolved as yet," Green told reporters.

"So we won't be making any further comment at this stage. Any inquiries please contact the NRL regarding that. Thanks."
