‘I Ain’t Gotta Glass Jaw’- Nate Diaz Summons Top 5 Fighters From Lightweight and Welterweight Divisions

UFC welterweight legend and perennial fan favorite Nate Diaz made his long-awaited return to the octagon as he faced a high-flying Leon Edwards at UFC 263. Although the match wasn’t in the main or co-main event, it surely made headlines.

It was a first for UFC where a non-title, non-main event match was scheduled for 5 rounds. Although Diaz received a rousing welcome from the Arizona fans, it was still not enough for him to secure a victory. Edwards dominated most of the match and picked up a unanimous decision win.

But one thing that didn’t change was the character shown up by Diaz. He got brutalized by initial assaults from Edwards and even got cuts on his head, but he hung on.

Whispering a subtle touch from his gritty show, Diaz called out the elite fighters from lightweight as well as welterweight divisions. He even mocked them for having fragile jaws.

The Stockton native wrote on his Twitter handle, “I ain’t gotta glass jaw like y’all. Top 5 lightweights and welterweights, you know who you are. Nate Dogg. TheRealChampion.”

Nate Diaz wants to return soon to the octagon

Although his career record may not show his genuine efforts, there is no denying the fact that he is the main event star. The guy can draw enormous crowds and chunk in great numbers for the promotion.

After his spirited loss against Edwards, Diaz appeared for the post-fight interview. He showed his interest in returning soon to the octagon.

I want to fight in three or four months. I want to hop back in there,” he said. “Just to heal up; if I was unscathed, would be back next week.”

“I was just not motivated to train anymore because I had already put in all the hard work for the last fight in Texas where it was supposed to be. And now I had to linger on for another f*cking month. It just s*cked. Roll with the punches, do what I had to do to get here,” he concluded.

Well, there are a number of superstars in UFC who could line up to face Diaz in his next fight. He could also consider venturing into boxing, considering his drawing power.

Who do you think will be up next for Diaz?
