It now appears that talent definitely runs in the Leclerc family. Already, Charles Leclerc is proving his mettle in the Formula One world championship. Now, his younger brother, Arthur Leclerc, has just won his first race in the FIA Formula 3 championship. The best part is that the Monegasque youngster started from pole position, so this was a lights to flag win.

During Race 1, the Prema driver started dead last but clawed his way up to finish 12th fastest. This was enough to put him on pole for Race 2.
Alongside him in the front row was Red Bull junior Jak Crawford. Leclerc’s Prema teammates Olli Caldwell and Dennis Hauger lined up behind them.

Charles Leclerc was truly happy for his brother
Naturally, Charles Leclerc was thrilled for his younger sibling. He said, “He was I think a bit emotional so yeah, me as well. To be honest we didn’t speak much, I just hugged him.
“It was really special to have all my family here, there is my friends as well in the grandstand, it was really a great feeling and to see all the Ferrari really supporting is great.”
Admittedly, Leclerc had a clear run when Crawford stalled at the start. Crawford himself was thanking his lucky stars when most of the pack managed to avoid hitting him.
On the bright side, he was able to get going once again, though the same could not be said for Caio Collet.
With Crawford still recovering, it allowed the Prema trio to run riot. In the end, Arthur Leclerc went unchallenged, while Hauger made it a Prema 1-2. Meanwhile, local hero Victor Martins rounded out the podium, to the fans’ delight.
He managed to prevent an all-Prema podium, with Caldwell finishing 4th. Jack Doohan led the remaining point-scorers, including Clement Novalak, Alex Smolyar, Calan Williams, Ayumu Iwasa and Frederik Vesti.
On the championship front, Hauger and Martins both scored 12 points and are tied for the lead on 48 points apiece. Now, Vesti will start on pole for race three on Sunday.
