“He’s Always Been Such a Big Brother” – Drew McIntyre Credits Sheamus for Supporting Him When He Was Fired

WWE Superstars might be rivals inside the ring, but backstage they are good friends, great colleagues, and amazing individuals! This is the story of Superstars Drew McIntyre and Sheamus.

McIntyre and Sheamus have been friends for a long time. In fact, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ credited Sheamus for making his life much easier when he was struggling.

“I’ve known Sheamus forever. He’s my oldest friend in wrestling,” McIntyre said. “I met him when I was 19 years old and he was only about 42 years old at the time [laughs]. It was very clear from the beginning that we had very similar goals. We weren’t just content being the top superstars in Europe, we [wanted to] be the guys who go to WWE.”

“He was there during all the good times and obviously all the bad times and I wouldn’t have gotten through a lot of them without him being there for me,” McIntyre continued. “I literally lived in his house at one point. That’s where we were at, at that point in my life. When I was fired and was still trying to find myself, I was living there and he was looking out for me. He’s always been such a big brother for me” H/t Sportskeeda.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus have had feuds and rivalries, even among themselves. However, they remain great friends backstage.

Drew McIntyre praised Sheamus before Fastlane 2021

McIntyre and Sheamus primarily feuded prior to Fastlane 2021. They had an impactful match at Fastlane where McIntyre defeated Sheamus.

While preparing for the match, McIntyre showered praise on Sheamus, calling him one of the hardest workers at WWE.

“When I say [Bobby Lashley and I] are the hardest workers in the room, you throw Sheamus in there too,” said McIntyre.

“This is 24/7. All we do is think and breathe this business, we’re in the gym every single day, trying to better ourselves, watching tapes. In the ring, we bring physicality like you’ve never seen before.” H/t Forbes.

Currently, McIntyre is preparing for his match against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash. Since the time Lashley became the WWE Champion, McIntyre has been challenging ‘The Almighty’. They had a match at WrestleMania 37 where Lashley emerged victorious.

The match turned into a triple threat match after Braun Strowman defeated McIntyre on an episode of Monday Night Raw.
