Sofia Kenin announced her new partnership with tech giants Motorola on Twitter whilst flaunting the foldable phone from Motorola. In her tweet, Kenin held Motorola’s folding phone called Razr. And in her tweet, she revealed her excitement about joining the Motorola family.
“I’m so excited to officially be part of the Motorola brand @motorolaus! My Razr is such a crucial part of my daily life, helping me to stay in touch with my family and friends while I’m traveling. I’m looking forward to what 2021 brings as a #motoparnter!!!”

Despite becoming a Grand Slam champion in 2020, Kenin hasn’t been active in acquiring more endorsements. She mainly has a multi-year deal with Italian sports equipment maker, Fila. Then she has a racquet deal with Babolat. 2021 began with a bad start for Kenin as she part ways with top sports agency firm ‘Top Five Management’.
“Due to difficulties with the athlete’s environment, Top Five Management has decided not to extend its collaboration with Sofia Kenin. After joining Top Five Management, the U.S. tennis rising star delivered an outstanding performance during season 2020…Top Five Management wishes Sofia all the best for the future.” the sports agency said.
Sofia Kenin prepares for Australian Open 2021
The Motorola deal might attract new sponsors as Kenin heads towards the 2021 WTA season. Kenin has already begun her 2021 season in Abu Dhabi. She is the number one seed at the first-ever WTA 500 tournament, taking place in Abu Dhabi.
In the second round, Kenin survived a scare against Kirsten Flipkens. Flipkens almost lead the match towards a third set, but an ankle injury forced her to retire from the match.
Abu Dhabi Open is important for Kenin as she came on the court for the first time since losing the French Open 2020 final to Iga Swiatek three months ago. Kenin will now play 13th seed Yulia Putintseva in the third round of the WTA Abu Dhabi Open. The American might eye the long game and think about getting herself ready to defend her title at Australian Open 2021.
