The Lakers seemed to have finally found their groove inside the bubble. Game 4 of the Lakers vs. Blazers was a treat to watch. There was so much emotion attached to the game, as the Lakers wore a special ‘Black Mamba’ jersey in honor of Kobe Bryant. Following the victory on 8/24, Danny Green connected with Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter, to reflect on the game.
Green mentioned how the team is taking their time to find their rhythm. After a sub-par performance in the seeding games, the Lakers look like they’ve found their beat. “We’re still not where we wanna be, but we’re getting better,” Green said.
“Starting to have some positive vibes going and feeling more confident about ourselves offensively and defensively,” he continued. Green mentioned how the first few games had the Lakers be cautious on the defensive end.
However, getting better on offense is always an improvement for the team as it earns them buckets. “Offense is where our struggles is,” Green stated. “So it was good to finally hit some shots for some guys and get the confidence going,” he said, reflecting on Game 4.
Danny Green did not hesitate to acknowledge the fact that the Lakers have struggled on the offensive end. “Tonight was good to get out and running,” he mentioned. In fact, the purple and gold had one of their better attacking nights in the bubble, during Game 4.
As a team, they were hugely successful in scoring buckets. The Lakers made 48 of their 87 field goal attempts at 56.3%. Moreover, their three-point shooting was on spectacular display as well.
Lakers create playoff record in Game 4
The Los Angeles Lakers have a rich history in the NBA playoffs. As a franchise, they have many records to their name in the history books. In terms of franchise records, LeBron James and the team have entered their name in the Lakers’ playoff history books.
With 17 three-pointers made in Game 4, this is now the most 3s recorded in a playoff game by a Laker team in history. This is certainly a commanding feat, which would also act as a confidence boost for the upcoming games.
