Warriors coach Steve Kearney has reportedly been sacked by the club following their big loss to South Sydney on Friday night.
The Warriors are running thin on reserves as their stocks took another hit in their 40-12 loss to South Sydney, and now they aim to navigate the rest of the season without their coach.
The New Zealand team has cut ties with the Kearney with two years remaining on his contract.
He is expected to be replaced by assistant coach Todd Payten for the remainder of the season.
The Warriors' management made the decision on Saturday after the 28-point loss.
"Stephen was informed this morning that we needed to make an immediate change," Warriors chief executive Cameron George said on Saturday.
The club broke the news to the players on Saturday afternoon while in camp in Terrigal.
Despite news NRL clubs will be free to return to their home grounds from round eight, the Warriors are the lone team without the same certainty due to coronavirus-enforced travel restrictions in New Zealand.
After the loss to Souths, Kearney revealed he was struggling to field 13-on-13 training sessions due to injuries within their bubble in Gosford and there is no clarity over when they might be free to return home.
He also said players are emotional within their camp and they're hopeful families will be allowed to join them soon.
Kearney took the Warriors to the finals in 2018 after joining the club the year before.
