The 41 match reign of Roger Federer

In 2006-07, Federer rode high on an incredible match winning streak. He won 41 consecutive matches, demolishing some quality opponents on the way and establishing his reputation as the fiercest competitor on the tour.

This incredible story started at the 2006 US Open, which Federer went on to win. He defeated the home town hero Andy Roddick in the finals. Federer amassed seven victories in his title triumph.

He added two more victories to his kitty at the Davis Cup, as a part of team Switzerland. In fact, he beat an emerging Novak Djokovic in straight sets. His bandwagon went to Tokyo next, where he managed five more victories, extending his winning streak to 14 matches.
