When the Renault Sport F1 team unveiled its 2020 challenger, they went for a stunning black and gold livery. However, the team later confirmed that it was just a testing livery, and reverted to their usual paint scheme afterwards.
However, the French outfit later confirmed that the R.S.20 will roll out with a brand new 2020 livery in Melbourne. Of course, one would expect the typical black and yellow look, that has been present in the past couple of years. However, there is a slim chance that that colour scheme could be revamped, ahead of next weekend’s opening round of the 2020 season.

How did Renault do in pre-season testing
During pre-season testing, Renault actually had a decent run. Daniel Ricciardo banged in the third fastest lap, behind pacesetter Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen. Obviously, the delighted Australian was quite upbeat about the R.S.20’s progress and performance in Spain.
“I think we have improved the overall balance of our car, and I feel the rear now is better,” Ricciardo said. “We were able to get out of the corner a bit harder, so there have been improvements. So far the reliability and stuff is strong. That is something that Renault was really pushing for this year, and so far so good.”
Furthermore, the 30-year old is confident that the French squad’s engineers have addressed all the weaknesses that plagued the R.S.20’s predecessor.
The Renault driver was mum on the finer details, but disclosed that there were improvements to the suspension. This will actually be rather useful for the team when the paddock visits some of the bumpier circuits.
Unfortunately, the Circuit de Catalunya did not do a particularly good job of displaying the R.S.20’s suspension improvements. Apparently, the Barcelona circuit is very smooth and the curbs are flat. The Aussie admitted that the Albert Park circuit will likely showcase it better as it is quite bumpy in places.
This season, Ricciardo partners F1 returnee and French hopeful Esteban Ocon. The Mercedes reserve driver took over the reins from Nico Hulkenberg, who is busy on a bit of a vacation from Formula One
