Beale gets first captaincy nod for NSW Waratahs

Wallabies duo Jake Gordon and skipper Rob Simmons have been ruled out of the NSW Waratahs' Super Rugby clash with the Chiefs on Friday night.

Star fullback Kurtley Beale will lead the Tahs for the first time after Simmons succumbed to an ankle injury, while a hamstring strain has sidelined Gordon for the match in Wollongong.

It is Beale's first NSW captaincy nod in his 147-game Super Rugby career.
