The former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and the former title challenger Dan Hardy are in the talks for an exhibition boxing match next year.
Hardy will make a comeback after a long hiatus from fighting. He was on a two-fight undefeated streak when he departed from the UFC, and a career-threatening disease kept him away from fighting since 2012.
The famous MMA journalist Ariel Helwani reported the news first on his Substack. Akin to other retired UFC fighters, Tyron Woodley, recently featured in an exhibition boxing match against the YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul. Unfortunately, ‘The Chose One’ faced a devastating setback in his boxing debut.
However, Woodley demanded a rematch against Paul right after the fight. But ‘The Problem Child’ demanded the former champion to get an ‘I love Jake Paul’ tattoo for a rematch, to which he agreed.

Later, Woodley posted a picture of the tattoo on the internet and received backlash from many. One of them was the former fighter, Hardy. The latter took shots at ‘The Chosen One’ for agreeing on such a bizarre clause. This led to a verbal war between both the men on the internet.
Not only that, but Hardy also accused Woodley of keeping him waiting to sign the fight even though the contract was ready.
Dan Hardy Takes a Dig at Tyron Woodley
Dan Hardy, in his time at the UFC, has fought one of the greatest, Georges St-Pierre for the welterweight title. However, he left professional fighting in 2012 with six wins under his name. He competed in a total of ten UFC fights.
However, now he has been eagerly wanting to get back into combat sports. After getting into a verbal war with ‘The Chosen One’, a boxing match between them was in the works. However, Woodley snubbed him and was waiting for a rematch with Paul, Hardy told Submission Radio.
In the interview, Hardy said, “My contract is signed. And I know that he’s got a contract sitting in front of him, and the deadline is approaching, and he doesn’t want to sign it. And I don’t know why.”
He added, “I don’t know what the deal is because terms have been agreed. Money’s been agreed, date’s been agreed, rules and conditions, weight class, everything’s been agreed! But he hasn’t yet signed the contract. So you tell me. Tyron Woodley, why have you not signed it, Frozen One?”
However, now ‘The Problem Child’ is scheduled to clash against Tommy Fury for his next boxing match. And with the contract ready, Hardy is only one viable prospect for Woodley next. Also, it would be a great match-up considering the newly ignited rivalry between the former UFC fighters.
