Tiger Woods is probably the greatest golfer of all time. He has 82 PGA Tour and 15 major championship victories in his career so far. However, he had to stop playing golf as he met with a horrific accident earlier this year. Thankfully, he has recovered well and recently shared a video of himself practicing at the range.
Meanwhile, another tour pro, Collin Morikawa, has had an exceptional start to his career so far. He recently won the DP World Tour Championship and also won the Race to Dubai title. Notably, his career has had a similar start to Tiger’s career. Let us have a look at some numbers in the first 60 events of both these players as pro golfers.

Tiger Woods and Collin Morikawa’s first 60 events as a pro
Tiger Woods is considered the greatest golfer of all time. However, the young golfer from California has had an incredible start to his career and is making quite a name for himself. According to GolfDigest, after the first 60 events as a pro, Tiger had 9 wins, 36 top 10s, one major triumph, and had missed just a single cut. Moreover, his average on the tour was around 68.5, while his earnings were $5.9 million.
Collin Morikawa, on the other hand, has 6-wins, 24 top 10s, two majors, and one WGC win with five missed cuts. Furthermore, his average on the tour was around 69.4, with $18.4 million in his total earnings.

Going by the numbers, Morikawa looks slightly ahead of Tiger as the 24-year-old has won two majors, a WGC, and has more earnings than Tiger in equal starts. However, it is crucial to note that during the initial years of Tiger Woods, the prize money wasn’t high as these days.
Moreover, it was Tiger Woods who brought millions of dollars in the game with his unfathomable skills. Also, when it comes to WGC events, they started in 1999, which means Tiger did not play a single WGC event in the first three years of his career.
So, the only department where Morikawa is ahead of Woods is the major championship victories. Hence, both these players are exceptional in their own way. However, what Tiger Woods has done for the sport is unparalleled and will remain unmatched.
