Possible Reason for Hit Row’s WWE Release

WWE shockingly released Hit Row from their WWE contracts in the latest round of the ‘budget cuts’. However, the WWE Universe is still shocked about what happened between Hit Row and the management because they were on TV until last week.

The crew Hit Row had Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, AJ Francis, aka Top Dolla, Briana Brandy, and Ashante “Thee” Adonis. It looked like the WWE creative team wanted them to feud with the former WWE champion, Jinder Mahal.

However, Top Dolla released a controversial ‘rap’ diss track on the Indian, which had some stereotypical slang that might’ve hurt Indian fans.

From releasing the diss track to getting fired, it only took one week. Could this mean that the WWE chairman, Vince McMahon, did not like Dolla’s attempt at dissing Jinder Mahal?

Back in 2017, Mahal defeated Randy Orton to become the WWE Champion, making him the 50th WWE Champion and the first of Indian descent. This was planned by Vince McMahon to get more Indian eyes on WWE because of the enormous market base there. And it worked for the company as it drew lots of Indian viewers on Raw and SmackDown just to watch Mahal.

Hit Row rubbed Vince McMahon the wrong way?

AJ Francis, aka Top Dolla, released a diss track in response to Mahal’s comments when he called Hit Row – “Cringe Row” and rapped to mock Hit Row.

Eventually, Dolla released the diss track which involved the ethnicity of Mahal and Shanky and had references of “curry” and “sari”. However, the Indian fans didn’t like it and took their outrage on Dolla and WWE; eventually, Dolla deleted his diss track.

Now, we all know Vince McMahon is very cautious and always wants to put the company in a positive light and this diss track received a lot of backlash online. Thus, this episode could be one of the reasons for Hit Row’s release.
