Justin Thomas has not lived up to his own expectations this season. Apart from one win, the current World No. 6 could not whip up anything more. Hence, striving for redemption and revival, Justin has big plans for 2022. Notably, meeting these set goals will require a lot of hard work, and that is exactly what Thomas is doing.
Sadly, the 28-year-old started off the year on a terrible note. A week into January, fans saw him playing the round at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. However, he received massive criticism for using an offensive term to express his anger over a missed putt.
Unfortunately, a month later, his grandfather, a close mentor to him, passed away. In addition, he parted ways with his long-time caddie, Jim Mackay.
However, the year was not all that bad. He notched a win at the Players Championship and proceeded to have three top-10 finishes in the year. Nevertheless, Thomas acknowledged the year and said it was, “Very poor… I had a good start to the season, I had one good tournament, I felt like, in the middle. And I finished strong, but everything else in between wasn’t great.”
Hence, he has decided to pull up his socks and work twice as hard for next year. Let’s see what he is up to during the break.

He wrote, “Have really enjoyed getting after it this “off season” with my dog @kolbywayne. We’re working on getting stronger (both physically and functionally), addressing any weaknesses in my body, and #1… ALWAYS looking to prevent injury! And of course Kolby’s finisher at the end to really get the heart rate going!”
On a lighter note, Bryson DeChambeau commented on Thomas’ post, sparking light-hearted banter. In a joking attempt to trash him, he wrote, “180 ballspeed yet?” Thomas’ average ball speed for the 2021 season was 176.18, well above the tour average of 170.44.
Undoubtedly, given his incredible work rate, Justin will get there sooner or later. What do you think?
