Tate faced off against Holly Holm in March 2016  and won the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship after a wonderful rear-naked choke submission in the final round of the bout.

This was the first time in Tate’s career that she ever won the UFC women’s bantamweight championship. Her extraordinary performance astounded the entire world.

2. Miesha Tate vs Julie Kedzie

The fight took place on the 18th of August in 2012. At this time, Miesha Tate was still competing at Strikeforce and had not made her move to the UFC. Tate won the fight following a fantastic armbar submission. Tate’s grappling abilities were also on display at the end of the first and second rounds.

This was the first time that the world witnessed Miesha’s skills on such a high level.

3. Miesha Tate vs Marloes Coenen

Miesha Tate challenged Marloes Coenen for the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title in the co-main event of Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson. Tate escaped the loss by a very thin margin in the first round, by evading from Coenen’s deadly guillotine choke. in the third round of the fight, Tate showed some excellent technique and submitted her opponent via an arm-triangle choke.

This was the first time in Miesha’s career that she ever won the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight championship.

4. Miesha Tate vs Zoila Frausto Gurgel

Zoila Frausto Gurgel was the first Bellator Women’s Champion and one of the world’s most well-known female fighters. Miesha Tate was the first fighter in history to defeat Zoila Gurgel. Tate displayed some very impressive fight IQ in this bout. She played to her opponent’s weakness and shot for the takedowns.

Gurgel evaded a submission once in the fight, but the second time Tate put her in an arm-bar, she tapped within 30 seconds of the hold.

5. Miesha Tate vs Marion Reneau

Tate returned to MMA action after a break of almost five years of being away from the fighting scene. She took on Marion Reneau and became the first-ever fighter in history to beat Reneau via a finish.

Tate defeated Marion Reneau in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night. The fight was called to an end after Miesha threw a series of punches at Marion in round three. This was her first fight in almost five years and it’s safe to say, she won with ease.
