WATCH: Lando Norris Subtly Makes Fun of His Scary F1 Crash at Belgian GP

During qualifying in this year’s Belgian Grand Prix, Lando Norris suffered a heavy crash in Q3. Nearly two months after the incident, it seems the Briton has no problems making light-hearted humor at his expense.

Earlier today, Norris appeared in a video alongside his fellow Quadrant member, Max Fewtrell. The pair reviewed some overtakes from different motor sports, during which Norris referenced his crash in Spa-Francorchamps.

The Briton looked strong all weekend, producing consistently quick lap times. Looking to gain an edge over the rest of the field, Norris left the garage first in Q3 despite the treacherous track conditions at the beginning of the session.

At the famous Eau Rouge, disaster struck Norris and his MCL35M. He lost control of the car at the top of the hill, which saw him spin violently off the track and into the barriers. Sebastian Vettel, who was just a few seconds behind the 21-year-old, stopped next to him to check whether he was okay.

While Norris walked away from the incident relatively unscathed, it became a topic of light-hearted humor recently. During his review of overtakes with Fewtrell, he saw a battle ensue between Matteo Cairoli and Alessandro Pier Guidi in the 24 Hours of Spa race.

Seeing them battle at Eau Rouge in wet weather, Norris poked fun at his attempt to do the same earlier this year. He said“Oh! I’ve been through Eau Rouge in the wet!” Fewtrell then replied, “You didn’t get to this bit, though!”

Norris finished 14th in this year’s Belgian Grand Prix

Sunday’s race in Belgium didn’t take place due to heavy rain at Spa. Hence, all drivers completed a few laps behind the safety car to score half points. Although Norris reached Q3, he needed a new gearbox due to the crash. This sent him to P15, before gaining a place due to Sergio Perez‘s crash during a warm-up lap.

Since then, he continued to score points on a regular basis, finishing P8 in the recently concluded United States Grand Prix. With the Mexican Grand Prix in less than two weeks time, the Briton will look to keep his good form going, especially with Ferrari just 3.5 points behind McLaren in the battle for third in the constructor’s championship.
