State of Play October 2021 takes place in a matter of hours and, of course, PlayStation fans cannot wait! It is one of the most awaited events of the year and will reveal exhilarating third-party titles coming to PS4 and PS5 soon. Sony revealed the details of the 20-minute event earlier last week but what they didn’t disclose were the games that will be showcased during the live stream.
The showcasing is scheduled for later hours of today, October 27, 2021, at 5 PM ET / 2 PM. PT / 10 PM. And if you are wondering what third-party segments does PlayStation has in store, you have come to the right place. Here is a quick look at the final predictions for this year’s State of Play.
PlayStation: Third-Party titles that might make an appearance
PlayStation has already announced most of these titles for their consoles. Some of them might even release as soon as 2022 if all goes well. With that said, let’s dive into the carefully curated list of games by popular PlayStation YouTuber, GameCross, that might be featured in the October State of Play.
Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake
Originally planned for a release in early 2021, the remake of the classic Prince of Persia title’s development has had its fair share of hiccups. The original PS2 game was regarded as the best title in the franchise, so it’s clear why fans have high expectations from Ubisoft.

The title has a tentative release window of early 2022. So an update on the live stream is a fair assumption. After all, it’s not good to make the fans wait longer and longer.
Saints Row (2022)
As of now, the game launches on February 25, 2022, and it has been a while since fans got a development update on this one. The early 2022 window for a release will mean a lot of competition in the market. Given titles such as Elden Rings and Forza Horizon’s new titles. So an exciting announcement in the State of Play could go a long way.
Sifu
Sloclap’s latest title in the genre is highly anticipated after the positive response from the community for Absolver. The game got its release date pushed back to February 22, 2022, in an announcement earlier this year.
The devs take note of their previous mistakes and resolve all the mechanical issues of Absolver in this title and a fresh look would help convince the fans why the game is worth their hard-earned money.
Shadow Warrior 3
The third installment in the Shadow Warrior franchise is Flying Wild Hog’s unique take on a traditional FPS game. The game launches on all platforms such as the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC.
Fans haven’t heard much from the devs after the “official delay trailer”. New information about the title can be expected soon. And what better stage to do it than the State of Play event?
PlayStation: Gotham Knights
The WB Games Montreal title recently received new updates at the DC Fandom 2022 and fans loved it. The title focuses on the co-op aspect of games as well. And fans would really appreciate a trailer on that part of the game even though it might be too much to ask for. 2 trailers within a span of a week? DC please make it happen!
PlayStation 5: Final Fantasy XVI
Lastly, the most awaited title of the State of Play, Final Fantasy XVI by Square Enix. New reports from earlier today suggest the game will be at the event. As per IGN, PS store updates might have confirmed this one.
The PS5 exclusive (expected to be a timed exclusive) has set the bar quite high with its gameplay trailers. There isn’t any official release date for the title so who knows what the devs have planned for today’s showcase.
Interested viewers can tune into their choice of platform, as the event will broadcast on both Twitch as well as YouTube. Who knows? We might finally hear some news about Hogwarts Legacy.
What games would you like to see at the event? Let us know in the comment section.
