Klay Thompson Injury Update: Massive News For Steph Curry and Warriors Fans

One of the best shooters in the NBA, Klay Thompson, missed the last two seasons due to injuries. However, his rehabilitation went well during the off-season and he will be back this season. But the exact dates of his comeback weren’t known till now.

Klay Thompson sustained an ACL injury in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA finals, which ruled him out for the entire 2019-2020 season. The Warriors finished last in their conference that season. Klay returned to practice ahead of the 2020-21 season. But during a pickup game, he injured his Achilles and was ruled out for another season.

Thompson has been working hard to come back stronger and his return could now be closer than expected. Warriors VP of Basketball Operations, Mike Dunleavy Jr. has provided a positive update on Klay’s come back and it could excite Warriors fans.

Warriors VP, Mike Dunleavy, excited about the recovery of Klay Thompson

Golden State Warriors Vice President of basketball operations, Mike Dunleavy recently talked about Klay Thompson’s progress. He said that he’s excited about Klay’s recovery and he’s in a ‘great spot’.

“I don’t want to get ahead of it, but he looks tremendous,” Dunleavy told NBC Sports.

“It’s not going to be easy for him to come back after missing two years off, but he’s in a great spot.”

Neither Dunleavy Jr. nor WarriorS fans want to get ahead of themselves here, but everyone’s excited about Klay’s return. Earlier this month, Shams Charania reported that the team’s target for Klay’s comeback was the Christmas Day game against the Suns.

Thompson now has an added motivation after he expressed his frustration on social media after the NBA didn’t select him for the 75th-anniversary team.

The Warriors changed their home arena in 2019 to Chase Center in Oakland. But Klay hasn’t played at the Chase Center in front of the fans and it’ll be interesting to watch him play in front of a packed arena.
