How Many Poles Does Lewis Hamilton Have With Mercedes F1?

Lewis Hamilton is arguably one of the most successful drivers in F1 history. Along with immaculate skill, the Briton has amassed statistics never seen in the sport during a career spanning 14 seasons and counting.

One of those statistics involves the number of pole positions he secured throughout his career. While he started brightly at McLaren, his dominance began in the second season of his career with Mercedes.

How many pole positions did Lewis Hamilton clinch with Mercedes F1?

At just 22 years old, Hamilton made his F1 debut with McLaren. In his second season with the British outfit, he won his first driver’s world championship after a dramatic Brazilian Grand Prix. Needing a fifth-place finish, the Stevenage-born driver passed Timo Glock on the final lap to deny home hero Felipe Massa his maiden F1 driver’s title.

After the 2012 season, Hamilton signed for Mercedes whom he joined from the 2013 season. Although they didn’t challenge for the world championship straightaway, the Silver Arrows took over from the 2014 season.

Along with two different teammates, the Briton helped Mercedes clinch seven constructor’s world championships on the trot. In addition, he added six more driver’s championships to his own tally, matching the total of seven set by Michael Schumacher.

At the Spanish Grand Prix this year, Hamilton made history by becoming the first to reach 100 pole positions in his career. However, this was only his 74th pole position in nine seasons with the Silver Arrows.

At the Hungarian Grand Prix a few months later, he clinched his 101st pole position, and 75th with Mercedes. Prior to joining the German outfit, he recorded 26 pole positions with McLaren.
