Eugenie Bouchard Injury Update: Good News for Tennis Fans

Former World No.5 Eugenie Bouchard is an integral part of the WTA Tour, even though she hasn’t played a competitive match in more than seven months due to a prolonging shoulder injury. Recently, she even joined Tennis Channel as a studio expert and gave her view on the tennis tour. But finally, she has now shared some good news to fans regarding her comeback on the tennis courts.

One week ago, Bouchard had met her doctor and got an update on her shoulder injury. Later on, she took on Instagram and shared it with her fans. Most importantly, the Canadian star stated that although she must strengthen her shoulder more, she could soon hit the courts again.

Eugenie Bouchard gives a positive update on her shoulder injury

Considering the gravity of the situation, Bouchard hasn’t held a tennis racquet for around five months. But now, after rigorous rehabilitation and recovery, the 27-year-old Canadian has left the bad days behind her.

“I saw the doctor last week, and he says everything’s on track and going well, but he wants to strengthen my shoulder a little bit more before I get back on the court,” Bouchard said on her Instagram story.

Furthermore, the 2014 Wimbledon finalist added that the update is right on her recovery schedule. Hence, she looked excited as she expressed the news of returning to the courts soon.

“Everything’s still on time,” Bouchard continued. “So I just need a few more weeks of intense PT and strengthening, and then I can finally, five months later, get on the court.”

Unquestionably, it has been a long recovery road for the Candian professional. But soon, Bouchard could start working on the WTA return. And that is great.

Bouchard’s roller-coaster career so far

As Canada’s first Grand Slam finalist, Eugenie Bouchard was one of the most promising talents on the WTA Tour. However, injuries and inconsistency led to her downfall.

Although she has had some exceptional performances over the years, her World Rankings have continuously dropped. Presently, she is out of the Top 200 in women’s tennis.

But considering her talent, Bouchard has the game to turn her career around in a single season. The only question is: Would she put her heart and mind into getting back on the top? Only time will tell.
