The star-studded Met Gala saw the most creative and exuberant outfits worn by the biggest celebrities from different fields. After her recent heroics in the US Open, teenage sensation Leylah Fernandez debuted at the iconic event as well. The young Canadian’s dress was inspired by the legendary Williams sisters.
Leylah has shot to fame since her superb run in the US Open. She wore a Carolina Herrera dress for the red carpet which was inspired by the Vogue shoot where Serena and Venus Williams wore something very similar for the summer collection back in 1998.

Serena and Venus have been an inspiration for many young players. So, it is scarcely a surprise that the upcoming generation of tennis stars grew up idolizing them. The Williams sisters have set records that will be very hard to break for a long time. Although it is tough, the performances by these youngsters surely do not make it seem impossible.
Leylah Fernandez and Emma Raducanu spotted at the Met Gala
Furthermore, 19-year-old Leylah as well as the current US Open champion Emma Raducanu were spotted at the Met this year. Both players have been getting heaps of praises for their unbelievable runs in the US Open.
Emma became the first player to win a major Grand Slam after entering the draw as a qualifier. On the other hand, Leylah beat big names like Naomi Osaka, Sabalenka, and Svitolina to make her way to the finals. Even though she eventually lost the final to Emma in straight sets, both the players created history. Their run in the tournament is going to be remembered for a long time.
