The Los Angeles Lakers 2021-22 roster has been a big topic of discussion for the past few months. Last season, the team was eliminated after their Round 1 loss against the Phoenix Suns, which also served as LeBron James’ first Round 1 exit.
With the 2021-22 season nearing, the organization is determined to bounce back this season. And as a 14th roster spot is left, the Lakers might look to sign James Ennis.
With two spots left on their training camp roster, the team has a couple of options for any player they want to try out. Here’s a look at Ennis, and if there is a chance for the Los Angeles Lakers to sign him on their roster.

According to recent reports, Ennis has worked out with the Lakers this week. The team, however, has two spots left. If they want, they can sign a guaranteed player or maybe have a camp invite for a player they can assess for their G League counterpart.
Ennis started his career in 2014 with the Miami Heat, playing with other teams like the Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers before joining the Orlando Magic in 2019. Shooting 47.3% from the field, and 43.3% from the three-point range, Ennis could be a good addition to the Lakers roster.
General Manager Rob Pelinka has spoken about signing another player, explaining that they are doing final evaluations to see what to do with their 14th roster spot. “It’s not an absolute. We’re always fluid and anything can be presented and then we are in kind of our final evaluations on what to do with the 14th spot”.
The Lakers roster has been in the spotlight for signing multiple veterans, who will be playing around their big three–James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. While Westbrook was the blockbuster trade this season, the remaining roster can be the key to winning another NBA title.
