Mohamed Salah has quickly become the most important player for Liverpool after Virgil Van Dijk’s injury. While the Dutch centre-back is now back and looks like his former self again, Salah has started the new season in sublime fashion. The Egyptian has three goals and two assists in four Premier League games.
However, his wages don’t reflect his importance as Salah earns less than many Premier League players. The Egyptian currently earns £200,000 a week and has asked for a pay rise. Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher talked about Salah’s demands.
“While Liverpool have not spend big this summer like other teams, they have had a lot of players sign new contracts. The one that is yet to sign is Mo Salah,” he said.
Carragher also showed his appreciation for Salah’s contributions to Liverpool’s cause and added that he deserved to be one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League. After wishing him good luck, Carragher also remarked on Salah’s spectacular injury record.
“He is never injured, and year after year, he is the top goalscorer. He just is. That is what he is,” the Englishman said.

The praise didn’t stop there as Carragher talked about his all-time Liverpool XI. He included Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard and a few others, but the right-wing spot remained empty.
“I will say something else. When you pick your all-time Liverpool XI, there are positions where you just think, ‘He is in.’ Alan Hansen, Graeme Souness, John Barnes, Steven Gerrard, Ian Rush and Kenny Dalglish. You could fill all those positions no matter what this team does,” Carragher revealed.
The Englishman put in Mohamed Salah on the right, saying that he’ll be a legend for the Merseyside club when he ends his career. It’s tough to argue with Jamie as Salah has put up insane numbers in his time at Liverpool.
“There is nobody you ever think of on the right. Mo Salah will be in that position when he finishes his Liverpool career. He will be in that all-time Liverpool XI. There is no doubt for me about that,” he concluded.
