23-time grand slam champion and six-time US Open winner Serena Williams, who announced the unfortunate decision of skipping the home event this year due to a torn hamstring, has yet to take a call on her comeback on the WTA tour.
After retiring from her first-round matchup against Aliaksandra Sasnovich at Wimbledon this year, where she suffered an injury to the right hamstring, Serena flew back home to spend quality time with daughter Olympia and husband, Alexis Ohanian Jr.

Serena Williams reveals that she hasn’t spent a single night without daughter Olympia
Despite being away from tennis action, Serena Williams has been active on social media, sharing several fun updates in life. In an Instagram Q&A session that Serena conducted recently, fans asked her various questions concerning her personal life.
Responding to one of the queries about the longest time that she spent without Olympia by her side, Serena said, “So, this could be a problem. I’ve actually, haven’t spent a night without Olympia”.
For most part of the WTA tour, Olympia has been a part of Serena’s campaign, usually accompanied by father Alexis Ohanian. As the American‘s fans wait for her to make an impactful comeback and clinch the elusive 24th title, the legendary tennis player is spreading joy to her well-wishers and supporters through social media.
It was only recently that both Serena and Olympia baked a cake together. The chat between the two is being adored by tennis fans. Even the twinning photos of the mother-daughter duo at several occasions have taken the internet by storm.
Coming to Serena’s performance this year, the 23-time grand slam champion made a grand entry to her campaign by reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open, where she lost to eventual champion, Naomi Osaka.
Since Melbourne, the American struggled to produce consistent performances on the WTA tour as she was defeated by players like Nadia Podoroska and Elena Rybakina on the clay-court swing. As Wimbledon looked like an ideal tournament for Serena to pick up her 24th major title, her run was cut short by an unfortunate hamstring injury.
If doctors and the medical team deems her fit, fans might see Serena back on action at the Indian Wells event, which starts next month.
