Founded in 1902, it was originally called the Dutch Open. A change of sponsors over the years led to a lot of changes in the name. KLM was the longest sponsor, from 1981 to 1990 and from 2004 to 2020. However, the tournament was postponed in 2020 and on its return this year, KLM decided not to continue with the sponsorship anymore. Nevertheless, KLM Open is still its informally popular name.

What’s at stake for the winner at the Dutch Open?

The winner of any tournament on the European Tour typically gets 16.67% of the purse. The runner-up gets 11.67% and it goes down all the way to the 70th spot.
