Golf players rarely get a chance to represent their country in a tournament. There are only a few events where they get a chance to wear their country’s jersey. The Olympics are one of those events where they can play for their country, and America’s Lexi Thompson is at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 representing Team U.S.A. for the second time in her career.
The 26-year-old will represent the United States in the women’s golf competition at Tokyo Olympics 2020. Lexi also played a practice round at the Kasumigaseki Country Club, the host of the women’s golf event.

Lexi Thompson scored an ace at the Olympics, but the 11-time LPGA Tour winner made the hole-in-one during a practice round. It was a par-3, 172 yards 10th hole, which is one of the easiest holes at the Kasumigaseki Country Club. However, making an ace on any hole is not a cakewalk. The Olympic golf Twitter handle shared the achievement video where she was seen excited and amused.

Along with Lexi, three more players are representing the team U.S. at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The world no.1 Nelly Korda, Danielle Kang, and Jessica Korda are the players, along with Thompson, and these players will try to get a medal for the team U.S. and followed in the footsteps of Xander Schauffele, who did it in the men’s event.
Moreover, among all the four women’s golfers, Lexi is the only player who has played in the Olympics before and has a fair bit of experience. She represented team U.S. at the Rio Olympics in 2016, where she finished tied for 19th place. But she would look to improve her performance this time around and will aim for a podium finish.
Lexi is considered one of the favorites to win a medal this week. But for that, she needs to bring her ‘A’ game into the picture and play fearlessly. The women’s golf event at Tokyo Olympics 2020 will begin on 4th August at the same venue where the men’s golf event took place.
