Famously known as ‘Lightning Bolt’, the Jamaican is one of the most decorated athletes of all times. Born in 1986, the legend has had a marvellous career for himself. An eight-time Olympic gold medallist, Bolt is the only sprinter to have won 100 meters in the Olympics and 200 m titles at three consecutive Olympics (2008, 2012 and 2016).

In 2008, after winning 2 gold medals for the 4x100meter relay, he became popular for his extremely incredible performance, leading to the creation of a world record. Thus, he’s the world record holder for not only the 4×100 relay but also for 100 metres and 200 metres. Indeed, having an endless list of achievements has indeed made his fans believe in his legendary demeanour.

An eleven-time World Champion, he won consecutive World Championship 100 m, 200 m and 4 × 100 metres relay gold medals for the years 2009 to 2015. He’s still known to be the most successful male athlete in the sphere of World Championships. Not only this but also, Bolt is the first athlete ever to have won four World Championship titles in the 200 m and is also one of the most successful in the 100 m with three titles. If this is not historic, then what is?

Winning bronze in 100m, opting out of 200 and eventually undergoing an injury, was challenging for the 35-year-old. Consequently, the sprinter had to say goodbye to his career in 2017. During the World Championships, Bolt experienced a severe muscle tear while anchoring the 4×100 meter relay. The last 50 meters were visibly painful for the Jamaican.

Recently, he also posted a little something for his fans, to thank them for the support and love regarding the song.
