The UFC’s parent company ‘Endeavour Group Holdings’ recently came out with their second-quarter earnings. And according to their reports, the UFC’s quarter two performances, which includes three sold-out arena record Pay-Per-View events, led to the biggest first half in UFC history.
Ever since the company went public at the start of the year, the UFC has been the primary source of revenue for the talent agency, now also a sport and entertainment giant.
While most live event companies took a major hit during the pandemic, the UFC has seen a massive surge in their following. This is because they successfully put on several amazing fights cards throughout the chaos and turmoil.
A quick look at the Owned Sports Properties highlights reveals revenue of $258.9 million for the quarter. This is an increase of $106.6 million from the second quarter in 2020. A whopping seventy percent increase from last year’s second quarter.
Endeavor’s CFO, Jason Lubin, made the following statement praising the UFC’s substantial contributions to the company.
“UFC had a huge second quarter helping power to its biggest first half ever in terms of revenue and adjusted EBITDA. The quarter benefited from three incremental live events, inclusive of one pay-per-view. All three pay-per-view events in the quarter were at full capacity and broke local gate records.”
The premier Mixed martial arts promotion in the world, the UFC’s recent deal with ESPN, has also largely contributed to their ever-increasing popularity.

Can the UFC continue to be the top MMA promotion in the world?
As of now, the UFC has established a monopoly over the sport of MMA. There are several promotions that may have joined the party a little late. However, with MMA gaining popularity across the globe, one can expect a change in the MMA landscape in the years to come.
With many prominent UFC fighters like Jon Jones and Jorge Masvidal increasingly raising concerns regarding fair compensation, the UFC may very well have to make some changes in their business practices or else risk losing marquee fighters to better employers in the future.
As of now, the UFC seems to be on an upward trajectory. It will continue to do so with its record-breaking events and informed decision-making.
