‘The Perfectionist Is Wanting More and More’ – Jordan Spieth Reflects on His ‘Resurgent’ Season

As the Olympics continue their women’s golf events, we have the 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational taking place this week. From Patrick Cantlay to Jordan Spieth, a lot of talented golfers are in the field at TPC Southwind. In a recent interview with the media, Spieth discussed his 2021 season, and how he feels to be playing in the FedEx Cup.

Is Jordan Spieth ready for the upcoming events?

This season has been good to Jordan Spieth, who is aware that his past few months have been better on the course. During a press conference at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, Spieth discussed the same, and explained why he is looking forward to playing at this event.

“It’s been a really good season thus far. You know, I kind of bounced back and forth between obviously very pleased with where everything’s at and kind of where I’m at and FedEx cup, you know, the being able to kind of have some a lot of leeway there and look forward into place I hadn’t been in a few years in East Lake,” Spieth said.

“I really feel like I could have had three or four wins this season,” the 28-year-old added. However, Spieth does remain “very, very pleased”. “But the part of me that’s the perfectionist is wanting more and more. And I think that’s great. I think that that’s going to push me to continue to try and improve, which I certainly have plenty of room to still do”.

He even complimented TPC Southwind, calling it a really good course. “I probably would have played here every year, you know, had it not been where it was in the schedule”. The 28-year-old added that he does like the greens, and mentioned that “it’s just overall a really nice test where at par-70 you don’t necessarily see scores go extremely low “.

Spieth won the Valero Texas Open in April and has come in second a couple of times this season. He finished T3 during the Masters and finished second at the Open Championship. Impressively, he has also not finished below 30th in any event.
