“See You at the White House Soon”: Rogers Cup Trolls Rafael Nadal on His Recent Selfie

World No.4 Rafael Nadal recently lost to Llyod Harris in the pre-quarters of the Citi Open 2021. He didn’t get the desired result in Washington but will look forward to learning from his defeat. The final scoreline of the match was 4-6, 6-1, 4-6.

After getting eliminated from Citi Open 2021, Rafael Nadal posted a selfie. This time, it was the official Twitter page of the Rogers Cup which decided to troll him.

“See you at the white house soon Rafael Nadal,” tweeted the official page of the Rogers Cup.

Fans haven’t forgotten the selfie in which he unknowingly made a mistake and called the US Capital as the ‘White House’. It was a funny moment for some fans as they joked that Rafa is so new to Washington that he can’t even differentiate between the White House and the US Capitol. However, Rafa soon clarified that it was a typing mistake and rectified his mistake on social media.

Rafael Nadal will start as the defending champion at the Rogers Cup 2021

Since the Rogers Cup didn’t take place in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, Rafael Nadal is still the defending champion at the Masters 1000 tournament. He defeated Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the finals in 2019 to clinch the title.

Interestingly, the Spaniard has won the title on five occasions. If he succeeds at the Rogers Cup 2021, he’ll level tennis legend, Ivan Lendl, for the most number of Canadian Open titles. With no Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer playing this year, his chances of winning the title seem quite high.

After a disappointing run at the Citi Open 2021, Nadal will be eyeing the Canadian Open 2021 now. Fans have huge expectations from him and want him to deliver some amazing performances there. Will he be able to win his 37th Masters title in Montreal?
